Traditional techniques add color as a final step of the process, which results in higher loss of color over time. The color is added into the polymer before it is extruded, causing the color to become a part of the polymer. The solution dyed Satura® yarn used in WeatherMax™ fabric provides superior color consistency and long-term color retention.

It also leaves the fabric with a more refined texture, that won’t crack or become abrasive. This gives the fabric complete water repellency, without sacrificing breathability. The patented HydroMax™ finish is treated through the fabric, rather than a final coating. WeatherMax™ utilizes every available technological breakthrough to produce the top all-weather fabric on the market. WeatherMax™ utilizes advanced technology to provide 100% water resistance, without coating the fabric. This coating reduces breathability (resulting in mold and mildew growth), as well as causing the fabric to stiffen (making it more abrasive). Many designated marine fabrics are coated to provide water repellency. WeatherMax™ offers up to three times the color retention of solution-dyed polyester, while maintaining significantly higher strength retention.

Polyester fabrics can’t compete with the long-term performance of WeatherMax™. WeatherMax™ recovers completely from this type of stress, and won’t sag or stretch. Acrylics also don’t have the elasticity required to recover from stress, and may sag after weight or pressure has been placed on them. WeatherMax™ meets or exceeds their color retention capabilities, without sacrificing durability. Popular acrylic fabrics, known for their color retention, don’t offer the same strength or abrasion resistance. WeatherMax™ outperforms even the toughest competition.
